{April 2, 2009}   To the show, they go

Here are the 24 prime selectees for the SCROG. I cut holes in the rockwool slabs and drop the 4″ cubes on top of the holes. I slit the bottom all the way across for drainage. Try to keep your root area as dark as possible.

For lighting, I use a 1,000 watt HPS housed in a Hydrofarm Radiant 6 reflector. To double output and eleminate hot spotsthe light is connected to a light rail, a device that constantly moves the light across the plants. It is air cooled by an Eclipse 800 CFM in-line fan with 6″ ducting. That fan is a beast. If you use a strong fan, make sure to use a fan speed controller or the exaust fan will suck all the moisture out of the air. A room that is too dry attracts nasties like mites and thrips. It also hinders plant growth. Ideally, your grow room will be 77 degrees ferenheight and will be between 45% and 55% reletive humidity.
